When the most successful car in the Challenger category joins forces with one of the most impactful new tires in Rally Raid, the result is a partnership built to win.
Taurus and Maxxis have announced a strategic alliance aimed at combining the strengths of both brands to deliver maximum performance for drivers and teams competing in Rally Raid.
Over the last three seasons, Taurus has established itself as the benchmark in the Challenger category of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). Taurus vehicles have recorded the highest number of stage wins in the category and have dominated the Rally Dakar with three consecutive victories and eight out of nine possible podium finishes at the top of the category, while also holding the current world championship title.
As part of this new partnership, all Taurus vehicles leaving the companyβs factory in the Netherlands will now be equipped as standard with π ππ«π«ππ¦ π₯πππ₯ π₯πππ+ tires, developed specifically for the extreme demands of Rally Raid competition.
Maxxis has also made a powerful entry into the discipline. The brand debuted in the Rallye du Maroc and immediately secured a podium with NicolΓ‘s Cavigliasso and Valentina Pertegarini driving a Taurus Evo Max. The momentum continued at the Rally Dakar, where Maxxis achieved another podium finish.
The numbers highlight the impact: only 18% of the vehicles in the Challenger and SSV categories were running Maxxis tires, yet the brand captured 46% of the podium finishes.
The partnership goes far beyond simply fitting tires to the vehicles. Taurus and Maxxis have launched a joint testing and development program, with recent sessions conducted in Barcelona and Portugal. The focus is on optimizing the overall performance of the car, including suspension setup, vehicle balance and tire adaptation across different rally conditions.
Taurus will also offer the π ππ«π«ππ¦ π₯πππ₯ π₯πππ+ through its exclusive customer e-shop, maintaining the official pricing structure developed by Maxxis. Taurus customers will benefit from access to the Maxxis Tire Service, available at key events such as BP Rally Portugal, DesafΓo Ruta 40 in Argentina and other major rallies where Maxxis provides support.
